Mark Wedge
Mr. Wedge or Aan Goosh oo was born and raised and currently resides in the Yukon Territory of Canada and is of Tagish/Tlinget/Caucasian ancestry. Following his mother’s lineage (as is customary with the Tagish/Tlinget), he belongs to the Deicitaan Clan of the Crow moiety. Mr. Wedge is a Trustee on Carcross Tagish Dánna Jíli Trust and Chair of the Tagish River Habitat Committee, Mr. Wedge has been actively involved in the economic and social development of his local communities, and has served as Chief of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation. He has also been involved in dispute resolution in both Canada and the United States. He has acted as Executive Director of the Council of Yukon Indians. He has also acted as a negotiator for various First Nations in asserting land claims. Mr. Wedge has served as President and Chairman of Yukon Indian Development Corporation and Dana Naye Ventures, an aboriginal capital corporation. He has also served with the National Roundtable on the Economy and Environment, Western Aboriginal Economic Development Board, National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association, National Aboriginal Business Association and a number of other regional aboriginal and corporate boards. He provides consulting and training services to governments and organizations in both Canada and the United States.
