Trust Analyst

Position Description

Reporting directly to the Vice-President of Indigenous Trust Services (FNB Trust), the Trust Analyst will be accountable for executing transactions, bookkeeping, conducting bank and investment account reconciliations and maintaining adequate transaction records for all client trust accounts.

As a Trust Analyst, you are a trusted and experienced professional with the following competencies:

Responsibilities:

• Collect and sort invoices and cheques, issue all trust cheques, payouts, and trust transfers and record in the general ledger

• Manage EFT and wire transfer outgoing payments, process all trust deposits including direct deposits and incoming wire transfers

• Oversee and arrange trust bank account openings and daily banking transactions

• Collect, validate and record financial institution account information for trust client payees

• Support the FNB trust team by performing any assigned accounting and clerical tasks

• Collect client bank account investment manager statements and record in the general ledger system

• Conduct and report monthly reconciliations on client bank and investment accounts

• Reconcile firm credit card statements

• Maintain records of transactions and activities

• Ensure compliance with FNB Trust’s policies, procedures and the governing client trust agreements in all trust-related matters

• Work closely with FNB Trust colleagues regarding all trust-related matters

• Perform other related duties as required, including providing coverage support for the accounting team during absences, and providing general administrative support as requested

Qualifications Required

• Minimum 3-5 years in an accounting support role in a financial institution that includes transaction processing

• Must have a Bookkeeping or Accounting Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and are highly proficient with Microsoft® Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook

• Superior organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to handle a high volume of work with tight deadlines, and keen attention to detail

• You use sound judgment to make decisions and can successfully manage multiple changing priorities

Job Location

The Trust Analyst position is based from our head office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. While COVID-19 restrictions are in place, it will involve some working from the head office but primarily will involve working remotely until FNB Trust starts operating in a manner similar to pre-COVID operations.
